Project Description:
The Iowa Conner Training projects mission is to promote, through training, education, and technical assistance, a system of individualized supports that will assist Iowans with disabilities to live as fully participating members of their communities. For the past years, the Training project has funded Community Living Transition Grants. These grants, which are awarded annually, fund the placement of Glenwood and Woodward Resource Center residents into community-based settings. Staff works with Money Follows the Person transition specialists and comunity service providers to determine services and supports to be funded. The Consortium publishes Possibilities, a quarterly newsletter highlighting disability-related events and resources, while publicizing the latest disability-related activities through its website: www.disabilitytraining.org
