Strengthening Families: Resources for Partnering for Children's Healthy Development
Project Description:
As managed care networks emerge as providers of health care for children and youth with special health care needs, there is a need for resources for families and primary health care providers to integrated health, development, early care/education, and transitions (preschool and young adult). Under contract with the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, Division of Women and Children?s Services [WCS], a series of interactive web-based learning modules will be developed and managed for use by professionals and consumers in support of the following HRSA grants (CFDA 93.110): 1) The President?s New Freedom Initiative/State Implementation Grant for Integrated Community Systems for CYSHCN, and 2) Early Childhood Comprehensive System of Care.
Web-based resources will be used by:
a. Families of infants and toddlers with developmental disabilities and special needs,
b. Licensed practitioners of the healing arts,
c. Early care educators, and
d. Early intervention personnel serving these families and children.
Topics include, but are not limited to the following needs identified through the ECCS and ISG grant coordinators:

Resources for Managed Care Providers
Screening for Children?s Health and Developmental
Social-Emotional Development & Infant-Toddler Mental Health
