Study IX Data Report: Part C - Parent Perceptions of Competence and Confidence of Practitioners Working with Children with Disabilities. One of the initiatives of the Center to Guide Personnel Preparation Policy and Practice in Early Intervention and Preschool Education is to conduct research on the level of confidence and competence of personnel working with young children with special needs and their families. The purpose of this study was to better understand parent perceptions of early intervention services for children birth to three years. Information gathered from the Parent Perceptions of the Confidence and Competence of Service Providers Survey is presented in this report.
