Product Description:
The University of Connecticut's A.J. Pappanikou Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Services commissioned the Center for Survey Research and Analysis at the University of Connecticut to conduct a study of faculty and graduate students at the UConn Storrs campus, the regional locations, the UConn Law School, and the UConn Health Center to assess their attitudes, beliefs, and knowledge regarding disability-related issues. For the study, "disability" is described as a long-term physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities. The study results will help the A.J. Pappanikou Center guide the university to make the campus environment more hospitable for all individuals, particularly those with disabilities. Differences in responses between faculty members and graduate students, and by campus location, were analyzed and are reported when noteworthy.
