The Transitioning into the Community conference was held on March 30-31, 2011, at the Sheraton Hotel in Anchorage, Alaska. The conference had two tracks: The Youth Track, presented by Mr. Kevin Creeden, M.A, LMHC and The Adult Track presented by Dr. Laurie Guidry. Mr. Creeden has more than 30 years of experience treating young children, adolescents, and their families with a primary focus on the issues of trauma and attachment difficulties and is currently a guest faculty at the Simmons School of Social Work Advanced Training Program in trauma-focused treatment. Dr. Guidry provides both clinical and consultation psychology. Her specialty is assessment, treatment and risk management of sexual offenders in addition to the treatment of those sexually abused. Dr. Guidry is active in efforts to inform public policy about effective treatment approaches and management of sexual offenders to maximize public safety.
