Autism CARES Act Summary

The Autism Collaboration, Accountability, Research, Education, and Support Act of 2014 or the Autism CARES Act (H.R. 4631; S. 2449) will reauthorize the Combating Autism Reauthorization Act of 2011 for five years.

Autism CARES Act Passes Senate

Late on July 31, the Senate passed the Autism CARES Act by unanimous consent. The bill now goes to the President for signature.

House Passes Autism CARES Act Today

"AUCD is so pleased to see that Congress has worked in a bipartisan, bicameral way to reach consensus on a bill to reauthorize a law that is so important to so many people with ASD and other DD and their families," stated Kim Musheno, AUCD's Director of Public Policy. "We hope the Senate will take quick action as well."

CCD Statement on Autism CARES Act

On June 9, 2014 Senators Menendez and Enzi introduced the Autism CARES Act, a bill to reauthorize the Combating Autism Act. The Consortium for Citizens with Disabilities released this statement of support.
