Core Description

The Cellular Imaging Core offers fee-based access to specialized hardware and software for confocal imaging, scientific visualization, and image analysis. The objective of the Cellular Imaging Core is to provide affordable access to state-of-the-art equipment, services, training and advice for projects using microscopy and image analysis techniques.

Microscopy

  • High quality digital microscopy with a wide range of objectives (1X - 100X)
  • Quantitative, high-resolution imaging of molecular architecture and cellular ultrastructure
  • Multi-label fluorescence imaging that allows intracellular localization and co-localization of large number of antigens (up to 10).
  • Awake behaving Multiphoton Microscopy
  • In vivo and live cell imaging over hours to days
  • High temporal resolution time-lapse imaging using confocal microscopy
  • Advanced microscopy methods including FRAP, FRET
  • Quantitative calcium (as well as other cations such as magnesium and zinc) imaging with the confocal microscopes
