Position Summary:
The Special Education Statewide Instructional/Behavioral Coordinator (SESIBC) works to develop and maintain a sound working relationship as a collegiate team member in collaboration with all staff at the SDE Division of Special Education, BSU-SESTA, and CDHD-SESTA. The Statewide Instructional/Behavioral Coordinator will develop coaching instructional supports in order to increase statewide capacity of education systems for students with disabilities age 3 through 21. The SESIBC will be required to make informed decisions in regard to instructional coordination and support, professional development, collaboration and team work. These decisions will impact the SDE, special education district personnel, and the overall special education efforts in Idaho. Time management and day-to-day operations of the project will be key to the success of this position.

Collaborate with the CDHD-Director, CDHD-SESTA staff, and other statewide projects to implement programmatic goals. Maintain internal relationships with University of Idaho, College of Education, and other University departments.

Maintain external relationships with the State Department of Education (SDE), Director of Special Education, BSU-SESTA, Special Education District Directors, Statewide Superintendents, Statewide special and general education educators, and other statewide stakeholders.

This position has multi-faceted job responsibilities. The Special Education Statewide Instructional/Behavioral Coordinator must understand the program goals and objectives, be able to work with a variety of staff and take directives from CDHD-SESTA Associate Directors and the Center on Disabilities and Human Development (CDHD) Director in consultation with the State Special Education Director.
