South Dakota Parent Connection (SDPC), a statewide 501(c)3 non-profit organization, connects and serves families caring for children/youth (ages birth to 26) with a full range of disabilities or special health care needs to information, training and resources. SDPC is seeking a progressive, mission-focused professional to lead the organization as Executive Director.

Reporting to the board of directors, the successful candidate will possess a unique balance of advocacy, diplomacy, leadership, and management skills. They will supervise all staff and coordinate the efforts of statewide volunteers. The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to and leading SDPC's efforts to fulfill its mission and goals as developed in its strategic plan. They will lead in building and fostering relationships with governments and other external stakeholders and partners at the state, federal, and local level. Program design, program administration, and fundraising/grants development leadership will be required as SDPC seeks to build its capacity and services.

The successful candidate will require at least three years of progressive experience in management and leadership, including a working knowledge of federally-funded programs related to SDPC's mission and services. A bachelor's degree in special education, health, human services, public administration, or related field is preferred; a master's degree is a plus. Experience in working with families and children with the full range of disabilities or special health care needs is preferred. Significant statewide and occasional national travel is a requirement of the position. Position will remain open until filled.
