The University of Tennessee's Boling Center for Developmental Disabilities (BCDD) announces a search for a new Associate Director. The Associate Director works with the Director, Management Team and Community Advisory Council to plan, implement and evaluate Boling Center programs.

The Associate Director:

  • advises Director, Management Team and Community Advisory Council regarding program, development, evaluation and outcomes;
  • identifies regional, statewide and national issues that have effect on training, service, or disability related programs;
  • provides leadership on community projects, state boards and committees representing the BCDD;
  • plans, writes, and manages grants from various funding sources;
  • provides consultation and advice as needed to BCDD program managers and faculty.
  • establishes and maintains reciprocal relationships with local, state, regional, and national level educational, advocacy and service provider groups to facilitate the mission of the BCDD; and
  • facilitates collaborative relationships for grants and projects funded on local, state and national levels.
  • participation in, planning for and teaching some segments of the Interdisciplinary Leadership Training program and other conferences;
  • developing and implementing special curricular components related to grants and projects;
  • teaching in community-based programs, workshops, conferences, and strategic planning sessions;
  • participating in recruitment, orientation, and direct training of BCDD trainees;
  • plans, conducts, evaluates and presents research, evaluation and training projects in his/her discipline; and
  • Participates as member of the management team and chairs meetings in absence of the Director.

The successful applicant must have a Ph.D, Ed.D, M.D or comparable doctorate; five years postdoctoral experience in neurodevelopmental disabilities or related field of study; must be proficient in clinical neurodevelopmental disabilities and teaching; demonstrate exemplary personal and professional skills in an interdisciplinary setting; and have a proven record of success in program development and administration.
