The School for Global Inclusion and Social Development (SGISD) at the University of Massachusetts Boston invites applications for a social scientist with expertise in management, organizational behavior and leadership studies with a focus on building socially inclusive communities to fill a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position to begin in September, 2015. Duties include teaching core graduate courses in the area of global inclusion and social development and graduate electives in his or her specialty.

The School for Global Inclusion and Social Development (SGISD) at the University of Massachusetts Boston is an innovative, new school focused on developing leaders in the area of inclusion. Our programs particularly focus on addressing institutional barriers to inclusion, as well as the strengths, needs, and aspirations of populations who experience exclusion within their societies due to structural and cultural inequalities related to gender, race, ethnicity, language, age, disability, religious practice, and other conditions of social, political, and economic inequality and injustice.

Minimum Requirements:  An earned doctorate in management, organizational behavior, leadership studies or a related field is required, as well as clear evidence of excellence in or potential for excellence in both research and teaching. Prefer research expertise in one or more of the following areas, particularly as it pertains to building inclusive communities: leadership and management; organizational behavior; non-governmental organizations; inclusive strategies; community capacity development; systemic change and program effectiveness; and research on pressing social issues with clear practice and/or policy implications.Candidates must demonstrate their interest and skill in seeking to address the needs of excluded populations.
