Volunteers of America Chesapeake, Inc. is a faith-based, non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire self-reliance, dignity and hope through health and human service.

We are currently looking for a talented Director of Operations who will promote the mission, vision and core values of the organization and is responsible for providing leadership that supports and promotes the strategic direction of VOAC in areas of juris-diction. The Director of Operations shall collaborate with the VP and work to ensure the provision of quality services that support the development and progress of indi-viduals in helping them to lives with a heightened level of dignity and self sufficiency within their local community. The Director of Operations will work in collaboration with other disciplines to design a culture that is person-centered. The Director of Operations will be responsible for regulatory compliance as well as being responsible for directing the program to National Accreditation.. The Director of Operations will stay abreast of all current governmental changes through actively participating in provider meetings as well as networking with other agencies, and will be responsible to ensure that the program operates accordingly. The position will be working in the District of Columbia.

A successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree within the field of Human Ser-vices is required and at least 7 to 10 years of experience with a focus on developing and working in a system that promotes a person-centered environment, utilizing best practices for individuals with intellectual disabilities. A Master's degree is preferred. This position requires the person to have experience as a QIDP. This position will require the skills and abilities to develop dashboards that will display an analysis of the program's operation and performance.

The position requires a demonstrated ability to manage the operation of the program within budgeted guidelines. It requires familiarity with the development and manage-ment of programs and services for individuals with intellectual disabilities as well as ex-perience in the development and implementation of staff training programs.. The posi-tion will also require expertise for ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements as well as experience with working in conjunction with Quality Improvement. Additional skills required are budget management, personnel admini-stration, advocacy and public relations, excellent verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
