Description:PCG is seeking an experienced Career and Technical Education and Community College Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate for this position will possess knowledge and experience in some of the following areas:

  • Aligning workforce needs with educational programming;
  • Developing community college and business relationships;
  • Collaborating across the workforce and higher education systems to improve the employability of graduates;
  • Benchmarking career and technical programs' effectiveness; and
  • Driving the strategic direction of the Higher Education specialization initiative.

Overall Responsibilities:Public Consulting Group is seeking a Career and Technical Education/Community College Consultant to support, develop and grow the PCG workforce development service offering. PCG is interested in expanding our services into new and existing products, and services across the US and internationally.

The Consultant will:

  • Work in close collaboration with PCG Human Services leaders to develop and establish strategic priorities for career and technical education and community college business development.
  • Help to build critical relationships in higher education and develop programs which blend efforts across both the workforce and higher education arenas.
  • Be a strategic thinker, visionary, a relationship builder and entrepreneurial in nature.
  • Possess a solid understanding of the objectives and philosophy of career and technical education and community colleges.
  • Have expertise in research and evaluation of higher education programs.
  • Have a strong ability to consult with higher education clients to recommend solutions across a wide range of services which serve to meet key educational objectives.
  • Work closely with higher education clients to manage expectations and ensure satisfaction with PCG's consulting services.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Provide industry knowledge to lead and assist in strategic planning and product/service line development.
  • Have the ability to tactically analyze existing markets and identify potential areas of opportunity.
  • Use of existing client networks to provide a perspective on future business.
  • Establish good working relationship with local, state, federal and private service agencies and higher education institutions.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on a range of topics relevant to applicant's background.
  • Lead research and service offering development.
  • Other tasks as to be determined by PCG management.

This position can be located anywhere in the United States.

Required Skills:

  • Proper etiquette including customer relation techniques, strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to recognize and maintain the confidentiality of all materials in the work setting.
  • Understanding of modern office methods and practices, efficient with computers.
  • Ability to establish working relationships with federal, state, county agencies and the general public.

Required Experience:

  • Experience working within the workforce development, career and technical education and community college fields.
  • Advanced Degree preferred.
  • A track record in strategic planning, program design, development and implementation that have resulted in high performance outcomes or evidence of best practices.
  • Broad knowledge of the field of career and technical education and an ability to develop innovative strategies to meet education and workforce needs.
