Scope of the Position - Closes August 6, 2014

Technical Consultation:


Provide consultation and leadership on assessment, evaluation and research to the MCH Management Team as well as across the Center for Prevention and Health Promotion (CP&HP). Identifies and prioritizes assessment, program evaluation and research needs, and advises the management team regarding these needs. Needs may include program-wide, project-specific, and coalition or partner supported projects.

Provide consultation on assessment, evaluation and research to MCH program coordinators, policy analysts, continuous quality improvement specialists, and data managers. Serve as consultant and mentor to MCH Research Analysts. Provide consultation to MCH Informaticists on coordination and alignment of informatics, data collection, and research design and analysis. Confer with internal and external stakeholders, communicating with the public regarding MCH research methods and results.

Research Planning, Design, and Analysis:

Design study methods, data collection tools, and analysis plans for assessment, evaluation and research projects. Provide oversight to the work of other staff members engaged in compiling and analyzing information. Seek alternative sources of data as needed to address program planning and evaluation needs. Provide guidance and consultation in research design, analytical techniques, concepts, methodologies and studies to other research analysts and project staff.

Provide leadership in the development of survey instruments and/or data files to establish data sets for analysis and study. Manage the planning, implementation and evaluation of major research and complex data analysis projects from conception through presentation and publication. Develop grant proposals, including justification, research plan, analysis plan, and budget. Provide consultation on the management, evaluation and interpretation of other state and national databases, such as the National Survey of Children's Health, Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System (PRAMS), Maternal Infant & Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV), etc.
Report Preparation:

Gather data, prepare reports, and provide recommendations based on the data to the management team. Prepare and co-author written reports, publications, and oral presentations which include charts, graphs and tables that explain/demonstrate study findings, including recommendations and reports to outside funders and other partners and stakeholders.
