ICF-ID Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional Volunteers of America Chesapeake, Inc. is a faith-based, non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire self-reliance, dignity and hope through health and human service.

We are looking for a talented ICF Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) to join our team. Oversee the implementation of service and supports to individuals with intellectual disabilities (mental retardation and developmental disabilities) in accordance with their Individual Service Plans (ISP). Oversee support services for multiple assigned residential locations. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements through quality assurance activities and collaboration with regulatory entities.

Responsible for coordinating all clinical services to include Individual Service Plans (ISP's), scheduling, training and supervision of Residential Coordinators. This position reports directly to the Program Director. All services are to be provided in a manner consistent with Volunteers of America Chesapeake's values, mission, and principles as well as in accordance with policies, procedures, practices and licensing standards.

A successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a human serviced field and two years post graduate work experience providing services and supports to individuals with intellectual disabilities. Two years previous years of supervisory management experience. Working knowledge of federal, state and local regulations is required. QIDP in ICF/MR or Waiver residential settings preferred. Preference may be given to applicants with specific experience in the District of Columbia and experience working with Evans Court Monitors, Quality Trust, University Legal Services, District of Columbia Health Care Finance, DC Department of Health and DDA. This person must oversee compliance with multiple regulatory bodies and have superb communication and collaborative skills.

All selected candidates are required to drive the company vehicle to transport our individuals and/or drive your personal vehicle when needed. Must be privileged to drive according to the criteria set forth by Agency MVR guidelines and must possess a valid driver's license. Selected candidates must successfully pass the pre-employment requirements, which include drug screening, tuberculosis screening and criminal background check. Must acquire and maintain a CPR/First Aid Certification once employed.

ICF-ID Registered Nurse
Volunteers of America Chesapeake, Inc. is a faith-based, non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire self-reliance, dignity and hope through health and human service.

We are looking for a talented Registered Nurse (RN) who will provide program support and direct care to individuals for minor illnesses and injuries, and make referrals to other medical professionals and facilities as appropriate. The RN will participate in ISP planning and monitoring as needed.

A successful candidate will have graduated from an accredited school of nursing and registration and license (RN) to practice nursing in the District of Columbia and two years of med/surgical experience during the last 36 months. Experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable. Registration and license to practice nursing in the District of Columbia (RN License).

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, individuals, and other employees of the organization.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

ICF-ID Direct Support Professional  Volunteers of America Chesapeake, Inc. is a faith-based, non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire self-reliance, dignity and hope through health and human service.

We are looking for a talented Direct Support Professional (DSP) who will be responsible for supporting and coordinating activities of the individuals living in homes operated by VOAC and individuals living independently or with a family member or other person who provides primary care; teaching independent living skill to the individuals; facilitating community integration; and contributing to or maintaining the individual's safety and well being in accordance with the Scope of Work and with Volunteers of America Chesapeake's policies and procedures.

A successful candidate will have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED and one year of experience in a residential program for individuals with mental retardation or intellectual disabilities. Experience in a residential setting with other types of special needs populations may be considered (i.e. cerebral palsy, Autism, Alzheimer's, Traumatic Brain Injury).

Trained Medication Aide requirement may be determined by Director of Program.

NOTE: A bonafide occupational exception may be established for this position based upon sex/gender when it is necessary to ensure that at least one female and one male are on duty during each shift.

A successful candidate must pass the staff orientation examinations designated by the District of Columbia Department of Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA). All employees must maintain certifications corresponding with current program requirements.
