2014 Act Early Ambassador Training (Invitation Only)

Event Description
You are invited to join us for the 2014 Act Early Ambassador training. The training will begin on June 3 at 8:00 am ET and end at 2:00 pm ET on June 4. This two-day training will provide opportunities to learn more about the Ambassador program, including discussion about resources and tools that can be utilized during your term as an Ambassador. There will also be opportunities to network, share, and learn from fellow Ambassadors, the "Learn the Signs. Act Early." team at CDC and other Act Early partners.

Flights
The most convenient airport to fly into is the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Please book your flights using the most economical methods. Travel expenses will be reimbursed by AUCD once travel has been completed. Travel expenses will not affect your Ambassador stipend.

The meeting will begin at 8:00 am ET on June 3 and and end at 2:00 pm ET on June 4. Please arrange your schedule so that it allows you to attend the entire training. 

Please email your flight itinerary to Tory Christensen at tchristensen@aucd.org, or enter your information here, so that we can assist in arranging some group transportation to the hotel. AUCD will assist in arranging cabs to the airport following the meeting. 

Transportation (To and from airport)
Please take ground transportation or the MARTA (Metro Atlanta Transit System) to the hotel. Directions from the airport to the hotel via MARTA are listed below.

  1. Follow the signs to MARTA from teh Baggage Claim area.
  2. Pick up your MARTA Breeze pass from the machines located on your left.
  3. Take the MARTA gold line to the Brookhaven Station.
  4. Once you board MARTA, call the hotel directly (404-348-1111) and ask for the hotel shuttle to pick you up. The shuttle runs from 7am to 10 pm.
Shuttles will be available at 2 pm ET on June 4 to transport everyone to the airport.

A shuttle service will be arranged to take you from the hotel to the meeting space. The meeting space is also within walking distance (4 blocks/.34 mi) if you would prefer to walk.

Reimbursement
Please remember that receipts must be itemized and show the payment method used. ALL receipts must be submitted or you will not be reimbursed. Please submit your travel expense report and receipts within two weeks following the training. Security
The CDC is a secure site. You will all be put on a clearance list before the meeting. If you are NOT a US Citizen there are other actions we must take. Please let us know ASAP if that is the case. US Citizens must have a photo ID (e.g., driver's license).
