Reap What You Sow: Harvesting Support Systems

Thursday, July 29, 2010- Saturday, July 31, 2010
Location: Raleigh, North Carolina

The Institute is for people who want to learn how to build support systems based on self-determination and for those who may be interested in teaching the Reap What You Sow curriculum in their communities. Because the curriculum was developed by young people with disabilities, it is entirely from THEIR perspective. As a result, this curriculum provides a unique opportunity to learn about how to develop support systems based on the views of young people themselves.

Who should attend: Young people with disabilities, parents, siblings, friends, teachers, community support providers, allies, and others are invited to attend.

Institute Format: Interactive workshops engage teams of young people and others in fun activities while learning how to build support systems based on self-determination. Topics include "the big picture," power, engaging youth and family members in their communities, and systems of society.
