Project Description
This program provides high quality recreation and leisure services to those individuals with severe and multiple disabilities that require close levels of personal support. Goals are two fold: Serve those individuals who are turned away from traditional community/agency recreation providers because of level of disability and, provide much needed respite service hours for parents and caretakers. Unusual features include one to one leisure coaching services tailored to individual needs, chaperoned overnight vacation services and multiple small group community inclusion opportunities. Expected benefits are increased quality of life for both participants and family members in keeping with the normalization principles of natural rhythm of life. Increased health and wellness outcomes through physical activity opportunities not otherwise available through natural community supports.
