Promoting Employment First Policies and Practices

Session Description

This symposium will focus on changes in employment policies and implications for state DD agencies, community rehabilitation providers, consumers, families, advocates and employers. Speakers will share recent changes in the views of employment outcomes for persons with disabilities including the role that employment first is having at a state and local level; discuss effective practices and recent research; identify barriers to competitive integrated employment from multiple perspectives; and discuss how coalition-building can help achieve employment goals.
