Vita/Bio

Christopher Cunniff, M.D serves as the Genetics Faculty for AZLEND. Dr. Cunniff has a bachelor's degree and medical degree from the University of Alabama.  He is a Professor of Pediatrics, Pathology, and Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Arizona. He is currently the Chief of the Section of Medical and Molecular Genetics and also serves as the Director of Faculty Instructional Development for the UA College of Medicine (UACOM). Dr. Cunniff provides faculty instruction in teaching methods and administration, and he also provides direct instruction to medical students and residents.  He is a content expert in genetic causes of neurodevelopmental disabilities for the UACOM and speaks frequently at regional and national meetings regarding diagnosis and management of children with genetic disorders and developmental disabilities.   He serves as Principal Investigator on surveillance and public health research grants involving autism spectrum disorders, intellectual disabilities, muscular dystrophy and fetal alcohol syndrome at the AzUCD UA site. Dr. Cunniff will provide basic science and clinical teaching, feedback, and guidance in Medical Genetics for trainees in AZLEND.
