Meet the Coaches: Implementing the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Action Plan

In this webinar, expert coaches will share their experiences implementing the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Action Plan. They will share some of the challenges they've faced and strategies they've used to make meaningful progress on the action steps outlined in the plan. In addition to the panel discussion, learn more about the coaches' areas of expertise since these coaches are available through the end of September for individualized coaching opportunities.

Admin Essentials: MOUs and University-UCEDD Relationships

Recognizing that 42 UCEDDs are reapplying for the UCEDD core grant in the coming year, this installment of the Admin Essentials Series will focus on MOUs and the relationships between universities and UCEDDs. The session will start by reviewing findings from the upcoming URC report on MOUs and University-UCEDD relationships (report to be released early August) and then open up for a conversation on strategies, promising practices, and considerations.

Incorporating the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (ED&I) Action Plan into the UCEDD 5-Year Plan

The Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (ED&I) Action Plan calls for UCEDDs to work with their Consumer Advisory Committees (CACs) to incorporate specific goals, objectives, and actions steps to promote equity, diversity, and inclusion into their five-year plans. In this virtual workshop, UCEDD leaders and staff will explore how to effectively accomplish this priority within and across the UCEDD core functions.

Lessons Learned from AUCD's Language and Communications Access Plan

In this webinar, we will share about AUCD's Language and Communications Access Plan and lessons learned from the first two years of implementation. From 2019-2021, the UCEDD Resource Center (URC) supported a pilot implementing the plan, with the creation of the Plain Language Advisory Group and Spanish Language Caucus. Join us to learn about the work of both groups, what the URC has learned in its efforts to improve the language and communications accessibility of its technical assistance, and how this might apply to the work at your center or program.

Admin Essentials: UCEDD (Re)Organization

This session of the Admin Essentials Series will discuss UCEDD organization and how to approach reorganizing centers. It is our hope that this discussion will assist UCEDDs who are considering how to operate most efficiently and effectively for conducting the four core functions. This conversation is timed to coincide with the release of an updated AUCD Library of UCEDD organizational charts.

The OSU Nisonger RRTC Knowledge Translation Process

Presenters from The Ohio State University (OSU) Nisonger Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (RRTC) will provide an overview of knowledge translation (KT), discuss general methods and specific strategies to conduct KT activities with stakeholders, and describe their research project's KT model and process. Participants will also see examples developed by the team in consultation with the project's Disability Experience Expert Panel, a group of research partners with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Networking is a necessary skill for emerging leaders to expand their professional circle. Networking skills are especially needed for professional growth on platforms like LinkedIn. This workshop will teach trainees how to build relationships within the AUCD Network and beyond.

2021 Emerging Leaders Post-Conference Workshop: Storytelling

Storytelling is an empowering technique to share one's stories and deliver messages. Individuals with disabilities, families, and allies often use storytelling to amplify their voices. This strategy uses audio, images, or video to engage with an audience creatively. Workshop participants will learn and apply skills in digital storytelling to communicate their unique experiences as trainees. This workshop was an AUCD 2021 Post-Conference event for emerging leaders.

2022 AUCD Leadership Academy Informational Webinar

This webinar will offer interested potential applicants an opportunity to interact with the AUCD Leadership Academy faculty. The webinar will feature a brief overview of the 2022 Academy curriculum and timeline. This will be followed by a time for questions from potential applicants to the 2022 AUCD Leadership Academy. In addition, alumni will share their reflections about the benefits they gained from participation in the week-long academy.

Focusing on Supports to Families: Specific Strategies for Including Family Support in UCEDD CORE Grants

This session highlighted how three UCEDDS (Missouri, Virginia and Nebraska) engage, partner and employ families in the core functions of their UCEDD. This event is targeting UCEDD grant writers, directors, program staff and Family Support SIG members who are involved in the grant development and writing process.

Reflecting UCEDD Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Commitments in the Core Grant Application

AUCD hosted a webinar in September 2021 on incorporating the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (ED&I) Action Plan into the UCEDD five-year plans. In this follow-up virtual workshop, UCEDD leaders will discuss strategies for demonstrating their ED&I commitments in the needs, evaluation, organizational capacity, and leveraging sections of the core grant application.
