Pre-Conference Orientation for Trainees

This event will orient new and returning trainees to the AUCD 2020 Conference. Presenters will highlight concurrent and poster sessions relevant to trainees' disciplines and professional interests. Presenters will outline AUCD Special Interest Groups (SIG), AUCD Councils, and AUCD workgroup meetings open for trainee participation.

Join Matthew Wesley Williams, Author of AUCD's Charting Your Course: A Toolkit for New Directors of University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) for a walkthrough of this robust resource. Williams will model and contextualize each section and its modules suited for the current educational landscape. This toolkit contains a series of concepts and exercises designed to help early-stage UCEDD directors begin well in their roles. It is designed to provide concepts, frameworks, and tools that build the capacity of UCEDD directors for organizational and systems leadership.

UCEDD Directors Meeting

The UCEDD Directors meeting on January 27th was an opportunity for UCEDD Directors to have an overview of TA provided by the URC, a panel discussion on COVID vaccine considerations, an overview of transition activities happening at executive branch agencies under the new administration, and breakout discussion groups on a range of operational topics relevant for UCEDD leadership.

Social Media: An Essential Tool in the Democratization of Knowledge Dissemination and Engagement

Social media has a track record of spreading misinformation, yet it can also be one of the most democratic resources we have. The open-access format can reach many in the disability community and enable their voices to be heard, which mainstream media cannot do. The webinar will take a practical approach, highlighting how social media can amplify the voices and knowledge of our community for broader dissemination and engagement.

Admin Essentials: Matching Funds or Cost Sharing

The Admin Essentials Series is a series of virtual round table discussions on pressing administrative questions. It's perfect for UCEDD Directors and Business Managers who are interested in an action-oriented discussion space to problem solve through tough administrative challenges. Opportunities with the National COVID Cohort Collaborative

This informational session about the National COVID Cohort Collaborative (N3C) will discuss the largest limited electronic health record data set in the US and opportunities for collaborative research within the AUCD network as part of the Lifespan Disability Domain. The N3C aims to improve the efficiency and accessibility of analyses using a very large patient-level COVID-19 clinical dataset and demonstrate a novel approach for collaborative pandemic data sharing.
