Fabric not Fringe Webinar Series Part 1: Family Members as Mentors and Supports in Clinical Settings

This is the first of a four-part webinar series that breaks down the eight different types of family involvement detailed in the LEND Family Discipline Network (LFDN)'s 2019 white paper titled "Fabric not Fringe: Weaving Family Involvement throughout Training and Practice for Professionals and Advocates Working with Individuals with Disabilities and Special Health Care Needs." In this webinar, two family professionals will discuss the definition, needs, benefits, resources, and strategies associated with two types of family involvement: mentors and clinical supports.

RFP Info Session: UCEDD Leadership Development Project

This information session will review the Request for Proposals (RFP) for a new technical assistance (TA) initiative to support the development of a UCEDD Leadership Map and TA Plan. Disability and Health Data System (DHDS): Using Data to Take Action

Join Dr. Qi Cheng, a lead analyst from CDC/NCBDDD as she shares the 2021 Disability and Health Data System (DHDS) release. Admin Essentials: MOUs and University-UCEDD Relationships

Recognizing that 42 UCEDDs are reapplying for the UCEDD core grant in the coming year, this installment of the Admin Essentials Series will focus on MOUs and the relationships between universities and UCEDDs. The session will start by reviewing findings from the upcoming URC report on MOUs and University-UCEDD relationships (report to be released early August) and then open up for a conversation on strategies, promising practices, and considerations.

AIR-P Presents: Addressing Reproductive Health and Obstetrics/Gynecology Health Care in Autistic Adults

Dr. Jennifer Ames from the AIR-P Gender, Sexuality, and Reproductive Health Research Node, will describe ongoing research examining reproductive health and obstetrics/gynecology health care gaps for autistic people, inclusive of female, transgender, and gender-diverse identities. The presentation will focus on topics such OB/GYN clinic visits, cervical cancer screenings, and use of hormonal contraception, with particular attention to differences across sociodemographic characteristics. Future work investigating obstetric care quality and pregnancy experiences will also be discussed.

Incorporating the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (ED&I) Action Plan into the UCEDD 5-Year Plan

The Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (ED&I) Action Plan calls for UCEDDs to work with their Consumer Advisory Committees (CACs) to incorporate specific goals, objectives, and actions steps to promote equity, diversity, and inclusion into their five-year plans. In this virtual workshop, UCEDD leaders and staff will explore how to effectively accomplish this priority within and across the UCEDD core functions.
