The Seminar on Family Centered Care and Developmental Disabilities, a required component of the pediatric clerkship at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, utilizes a family-faculty partnership approach to educating medical students. The seminar features a home visit with families of children with disabilities. Utilizing qualitative research methods, this presentation explores student reflections of the home-visit experience and provides insight about how it influences students' attitudes toward disability.
