AUCD is committed to making all virtual events welcoming, inclusive, and accessible. Presenters should prepare and deliver their sessions so all attendees can fully participate.

Required for All Virtual Presentations
- Materials must be accessible (ALT text, captions, image descriptions).
- All videos must include accurate captions.
- Provide slides/handouts in advance when possible.
Presentation Guidelines
- Speak one at a time; say your name each time you speak.
- Describe images, charts, and on-screen text.
- Use plain language; explain acronyms.
- Speak slowly and pause for questions.
Accessible Materials
- Use accessible fonts (Arial, Calibri, Verdana, Georgia).
- Ensure good color contrast (WCAG 2.1 AA).
- Add ALT text for all images and graphs.
- Provide plain language or a glossary.
PowerPoint & Handouts
- Body text: 18–28 pt; Titles: 36–44 pt.
- Use clear slide titles and layouts.
- Avoid complex animations/transitions.
- Include captions/transcripts for all audio and video.
- Enable live captions when presenting.
Posters
- Title: 88 pt+, Authors: 72 pt+, Headers: 60 pt+, Body: 36 pt+.
- Use clear layout, strong contrast, and ALT text for visuals.
