Session Description
About
The Council on Community Advocacy is made up of individuals with disabilities and family members from each University Center across the AUCD network. COCA assists AUCD to advance policy and practice for and with people with disabilities, their families, and communities. The Council builds effective partnerships with other AUCD Councils and Committees, federal agencies, and other national disability groups; builds the capacity of local UCEDD Consumer Advisory Committees; envisions, actively advocates for, and disseminates information about the next generation of policy and practice that will help[ make the promise of full participation a reality develops leaders and mentors that build the capacity of the network to affect change at the local, state, and national levels; assists in the development of standards for participation of people with disabilities and family members in research, education, and service programs and in AUCD functions; and serves as a model and resource for others desiring to infuse the participation of people with disabilities and family members into program planning, research, and evaluation.

This meeting will be held in two parts; the second half of the agenda will be covered during the 6:00-7:30pm timeframe. Attendees to this second half will be served a limited amount of salad and pizza. If you have dietary restrictions which prevent you from eating salad and pizza, please consider bringing your own dinner to the meeting.
