AUCD Network members: We welcome you to join AUCD's Public Policy Committee
AUCD’s Public Policy Committee typically meets monthly on the second Tuesday of the month at 4:00 PM ET. The Policy Committee was created by the Board of Directors to support the mission, vision, and values of AUCD by supporting AUCD’s efforts to advance policies and practices that improve lives of people with disabilities. We welcome any person affiliated with a UCEDD, LEND, or IDDRC to join. Members of the Committee are either appointed by individual member Centers/Programs or self-selected with the approval of the individual’s supervisor. Disability Policy News and "How-To" Factsheets
We also encourage everyone to sign up to receive Disability Policy News. Disability Policy News is a bi-weekly newsletter providing federal policy updates regarding policies impacting people with disabilities. You will find Disability Policy News particularly helpful when trying to understand how current legislation (being written, debated, or implemented) is relevant to your work with action steps to engage. AUCD has also created a series of “How-To” Factsheets on how to get involved in public policy.
