Session Description
Many of the patient protections and market reforms included in the Affordable Care Act (ACA) already are or will be beneficial to families raising children and youth with disabilities and special health care needs. As the country works towards full implementation of the ACA, this interactive session will provide an overview of select provisions in the ACA and the implications (the good, the bad, the unknown) for children and youth with disabilities and special health care needs. The presenters will illustrate the impact of the ACA with a case study. Participants will have an opportunity to discuss the implementation of national health reform in their states. As a final group activity, participants will play the Catalyst Center's version of an ACA Jeopardy game.
This workshop is being conducted under AUCD's ITAC cooperative agreement.
