Chevelle Glymph, MPH

Senior Director of Public Health | Public Health

Ms. Glymph brings 20 years of diversified public health experience to AUCD. This diversified experience has provided the opportunity to work collaboratively with other organizations to develop partnerships and establish proactive efforts wherever public health is and insuring public health for all.

Ms. Glymph formerly served as the senior manager for community violence and intervention programs for the University of Maryland Capital Region Health, where she led multifaceted community-based programs around violence intervention, domestic violence, and sexual assault services. Prior to this role, she led the National Association of County and City Health Officials in Washington, D.C., as a senior director overseeing federal projects around injury and violence prevention, opioids, youth violence, child abuse and neglect, Medical Reserve Corps, preparedness projects, and bio surveillance.

Ms. Glymph also served as the chief of health, mental health, and substance abuse programs for the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments in Washington, D.C., where she led multifaceted public health, wellness, policy, emergency preparedness, and human services/public safety programs while directing emergency support committees affecting housing, human services, and medical services.

Ms. Glymph began her career in the public health field with the Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Administration in Washington, D.C., where she served as a health surveillance officer in the Division of Epidemiology Disease Surveillance and Investigation for eight years, managing all major outbreak investigations throughout the region.

Ms. Glymph holds a bachelor’s degree in microbiology with a Spanish minor from Howard University’s College of Arts and Sciences, and a master’s degree in public health from The George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health.
