Lauren Blachowiak, MEd, is the 2020-2021 Disability Policy Fellow where she works on federal policy and legislative issues that impact people with disabilities and their families. Prior to joining AUCD, Lauren taught at an inclusive elementary school for children with hearing loss in Washington, D.C. She received her BA in Writing Seminars from Johns Hopkins University and her MEd in Early Childhood Special Education from Vanderbilt University. While working towards her Masters, Lauren served as a Susan Gray Teaching Fellow at the research-oriented school on Vanderbilt's campus and developed research on a sibling-mediated language intervention for young children with Down syndrome.
