Emily's educational focus is on improving health literacy and communication skill of self-advocates as they transition from pediatric to adult health services. This interest combines both her professional passions and background as a person with a disability and sibling to a brother with significant complex care needs. She hopes to continue working on public health initiatives focused on health disparities/equity and healthcare access concerns within the disability community after graduating from UGA in December 2019. In her free time, Emily enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, martial arts, and watching movies. Life is a journey, and she will gladly go wherever it leads!
