Jacy Farkas, MA

Jacy Farkas joined the Sonoran Center in 2007 and is currently the Center's Training Director, where she oversees interdisciplinary pre-service preparation, continuing and community education programs. Prior to her current position, she served as the Sonoran Center's outreach/information dissemination and data coordinator for more than eight years, and is a former UCEDD trainee.

She has directed the Center's Person-Centered Initiative since 2009, which has included the development of community tools and curricula, implementing and evaluating youth transition planning programs, and providing technical assistance regarding service planning and HCBS compliance of the CMS rules. Her areas of interests lie in information accessibility, youth to adult transition, person-centered practices, intersectionality of disability and other marginalized social categories in terms of community inclusion and adult living, and diversity and cultural/linguistic competency in program and service delivery. She is a graduate of the 2013 UCEDD Leadership Institute and the 2017 Georgetown University Disparities Leadership Academy, and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Association of University Centers on Disabilities.
