Luis Valdez, MPH

Luis Valdez is a Program Specialist for AUCD's Maternal and Child Health technical assistance team. His work entails monitoring scholarly research within AUCD's network and promoting its effective use, in addition to supporting efforts to identify gaps in research particularly among underrepresented groups. Prior to joining AUCD, Luis worked with the Latino Health Initiative of the Montgomery County, Maryland Department of Health and Human Services, assisting in the creation of Spanish-language newsletters and information sheets, as well as gathering updated statistics for their "Blueprint for Latino Health in Montgomery County, 2017-2026." He also has experience interning for four years with the National Academy of Science, providing logistical support for various boards.

Luis holds a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a Master's degree in Public Health with a concentration in Global Health from the George Washington University's Milken Institute School of Public Health.
