Evita Almassi joined the AUCD staff as a Project Intern in June of 2012.

She graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in political science in 2010, and went on to complete a Master's in Social Work also from the University of Washington, graduating in June of 2012.

Eviat has previously worked for the Smithsonian Institution, in Human Services for a local municipality in Washington State, and as Social Media Director for a grassroots organization in Seattle called Flash Volunteer. As part of her master's program, she worked for the Associated Counsel for the Accused, the largest Public Defense agency in Washington State as a Social Work Intern based in Mental Health Court. Evita has a commitment to social justice values and a strong passion for policy and administrative work.

As someone who is hard of hearing, Evita has a commitment to changing misconceptions about people with disabilities in the workforce. She looks forward to helping AUCD fulfill their mission of supporting and promoting a national network of university-based interdisciplinary programs.
