Margaret A. Nygren, EdD

Maggie Nygren is the Associate Executive Director for Program Development at AUCD, working to develop new opportunities and initiatives for AUCD in areas of importance to its national networks. She is also responsible for the management of a national technical assistance contract with the Administration on Developmental Disabilities (ADD), subawards for national training initiatives in self detemination and postsecondary education for people with intellectual disabilities, and a Multiple Award Task Order (MATO) with the US Department of Education.

Dr. Nygren also serves as AUCD's Human Protections Administrator and provides overall leadership and management to AUCD's National Information Reporting System (NIRS), web-based interactive database designed to describe the outputs and outcomes of the networks and to assist UCEDDs, LENDs, LEAHs, PPCs, and DBPs comply with their federal data reporting requirements.

In her most recent position prior to joining AUCD, Dr. Nygren served as a Technical Advisor in the Disabled and Elderly Health Programs Group in the Center for Medicaid and State Operations within the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). At CMS, she provided leadership and technical assistance in program policy areas that supported the President's New Freedom Initiative, including the development of Money Follows the Person.
