Angela Martin, LMSW

Angela Martin is the Senior Associate Director for the Michigan Developmental Disabilities Institute (MI-DDI) at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. MI-DDI is Michigan's UCEDD and LEND. Angela has a Master's degree in Social Work with a concentration in Community Development and Social Action. She has extensive experience in individual and family support resource development and training of programs on Self-Determination, Person Centered Planning, Family Support, and Leadership/Self-Advocacy. Angela serves on the AUCD Board as Co-Chair of the Council on Leadership and Advocacy.

Angela is steadfast in encouraging and strengthening leaders in the disability community with lived experience. She helped establish the national Sibling Leadership Network (SLN) and the Michigan chapter, Michigan Supporting and Including Brothers and Sisters (MI SIBS). Currently, Angela actively supports Self-Advocates of Michigan (SAM), the statewide group of self-advocates with developmental disabilities. In 2012, Angela received the AUCD Leadership in Advocacy Award for her work on behalf of families and individuals with I/DD.
