ADA International Fellowship

The ADA International Fellowship Program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, Professional Fellows Division and administered by the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) in partnership with the Institute for Community Inclusion (ICI).

The ADA International Fellowship Program supports 20 mid-career professionals (Fellows) from Brazil, Kenya, Peru, and Tanzania, selected through a competitive process, to participate in a five-week intensive fellowship program at a university-based research and education center for disabilities in the U.S. There Fellows learn about best practices in inclusive education in the U.S. and then apply what they learned in an individualized inclusive education project or initiative that they will implement upon return to their home countries. The goal of Fellows' projects and initiatives is to improve educational access and opportunities for persons with disabilities.

The Spring 2017 cohort of 10 Fellows will travel to the U.S. from April 26, 2017 to June 3, 2017. The Fall 2017 cohort of 10 Fellows will travel to the U. S. from October 11, 2017 to November 18, 2017.

The application for all 20 Professional Fellows from Kenya, Tanzania, Brazil and Peru will open November 11, 2016 and close December 23, 2016. The application for all host sites will open December 5, 2016 and close January 16, 2017. Learn more about the Fellowship.
