Posted: Wednesday, March 29, 2023

This is a full time fellowship for graduates of Professional Psychology doctoral programs. As part of the Behavioral Psychology/Developmental Disabilities Track, one post-doctoral fellow will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of treatment services to clients across the lifespan. Activities involve providing evidence-based behavioral treatments (Applied Behavior Analysis, CBT, Behavior Therapy, DBT techniques) to adults and children with autism and developmental disabilities, with challenging behavior and/or mental health needs on an outpatient basis. Opportunities may also arise to provide services to group homes and collaborate on behavior plans. Supervised hours towards BCBA certification can also be attained as appropriate.

Additionally, there are opportunities to participate in community outreach programs and conferences and in clinic-based research. Additional training experiences are available at WIHD and can be integrated into candidates’ program, such as assessment of young children with developmental disabilities within the Early Intervention system.

Didactic learning experiences include professional seminars in developmental disabilities, early intervention, and career development.  Psychology Fellows will also take part in a 9-month, federally-funded Leadership Training in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) featuring developmental disabilities training from a multi-disciplinary perspective, participation in team projects & research groups, attendance at local/national conferences, and opportunities to develop presentation & legislative advocacy skills
