Capstone Coordinator and Open-Rank Clinical Faculty, Department of Occupational Therapy, University of Illinois Chicago, Chicago, IL

The Department of Occupational Therapy at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) is seeking a dynamic, clinically-focused faculty member to join our interdisciplinary department as a Capstone Coordinator and clinical faculty member. This is a 12-month, full-time appointment starting in the spring of 2023. The Capstone Coordinator will lead the capstone component of the entry-level OTD curriculum and will work closely with faculty, students, and capstone mentors to creatively envision and implement capstone projects and experiences in traditional and emerging practice settings. The Capstone Coordinator will also have teaching duties, which will be negotiated based on areas of expertise and will include mentoring entry-level and post-professional occupational therapy students.

Qualifications:

Required (at time of hire):

  • Completed doctoral degree from an accredited institution (e.g., OTD, PhD, EdD)
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as an occupational therapist in the State of Illinois
  • Three years of clinical experience as a registered occupational therapist
  • Experience teaching or mentoring students in an academic or practice setting
  • Evidence of strong collaborative, networking, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Evidence of strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Evidence of a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

Preferred:

  • Evidence of managerial or supervisory experience
  • Previous experience as a fieldwork educator or capstone mentor
  • Experience of curriculum development, implementation, and program evaluation
  • Record of community and/or professional service
  • Record of applied scholarship
