Administrative Assistant to the IOD Director, UNH/Institute on Disability, Durham, NH

Summary:
This position reports to the Director of the Institute on Disability and provides both daily administrative support and is responsible for the coordination of all aspects of the director’s schedule and provides assistance to ensure the Director’s priorities are met, IOD organizational goals are achieved, and best practices are upheld. This role will also include some administrative coordination duties on behalf of the IOD’s associate director as well. The ideal candidate will be extremely well organized, and discrete, have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and have excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.

Qualifications:

  1. High school graduation and seven years of related experience involving duties of increasing responsibility requiring discretion and independent judgment, or an Associate’s Degree and five years of related experience, or a combination of higher education and related experience equal to seven years.
  2. Advanced computer skills, including complex word processing, e-mail, spreadsheets, database management, use of search engines, keyboarding skills, and other software applications as required by the hiring department/unit.
  3. Effective written and oral communication skills.
  4. Supervisory skills.
  5. Experience in public relations, Grant-funded programs, marketing, and telecommunications or publications as specified by the department.
  6. Organizational skills.
  7. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the general public.
