The primary duty of this position is to support the Institute for Disability Research, Policy & Practice (IDRPP) with the coordination and implementation of projects related to employment, secondary transition, and community integration and access for people with significant disabilities. This position reports to the Director of Research and Training. This position is telework eligible within the state of Utah. Telework outside of the state of Utah is subject to review and approval by the University prior to a job offer being extended.
Responsibilities
- Design and delivery of trainings and technical assistance related to employment, secondary transition, and community integration.
- Grant proposal writing
- Data collection
- Project management and analysis
- Assist with writing up research findings for publication in journals and technical reports
Minimum Education and Work Experience
- Master’s degree in psychology, Human Development, Family Studies, Special Education, Public Health, Sociology, or a related field.
- 4 years of work experience supporting or developing employment support programs, transition programs, and/or community integration programs for individuals with significant disabilities/
- Demonstrated experience with validated community-based instructional strategies for individuals with significant disabilities.
- Demonstrated experience with developing training curriculum for direct support professionals
- Demonstrated experience with providing training and technical assistance to programs that support individuals with significant disabilities (community rehabilitation providers, secondary transition programs, residential and day programs).
- Competent in the use of computer programs including Excel, Microsoft Office and other applications.
- Strong interpersonal skills along with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of people.
- Able to work within a team-based environment within the program, department, and college.
- Experienced in managing multiple responsibilities and deadlines. Able to organize work responsibilities and self-assess personal performance against target objectives.
- Proactive in resolving issues, setting up processes, and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to take initiative, maintain confidentiality and work without close supervision.

Preferred Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in Psychology, Human Development, Family Studies, Special Education, Public Health, Sociology, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to edit and write research articles, technical reports, and/or grants.
- Demonstrated experience with data collection, data management, and basic data analysis for social sciences research.
