Are you passionate about improving systems supporting people with intellectual, developmental, and other disabilities?  AUCD, a national nonprofit organization supporting the disability community, is seeking a highly motivated, accomplished, organized, and goal-oriented Senior Program Manager to coordinate a range of supports, assistance, and guidance to 68 federally funded University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research, and Service (UCEDDs).  UCEDDs engage in research, education, and service activities, using evidence-based information to advocate, build capacity, and change systems to improve quality of life for people with disabilities.

As the Senior Program Manager you will manage the UCEDD Resource Center (URC), supervising a team of three to provide technical assistance to and promote awareness of the national network of UCEDDs. In this role you will have the opportunity to create and implement strategies that help researchers, clinicians, educators, and others to make collective impact on the service systems supporting people with disabilities. You will engage with local, state and national experts and leaders in the academic, government and private sectors; create networking and collaboration opportunities; and center the voices and experiences of people with disabilities and their families. Overview of Responsibilities

  • Monitor trends and emerging needs in the disability community and UCEDD network.
  • Develop, deliver, and evaluate culturally relevant and accessible training and technical assistance (TA) provided to the national network of UCEDDs to improve their program performance, statutory compliance, and program outcomes.
  • Ensure the quality, efficacy, and continuity of TA activities provided in response to identified UCEDD network needs.
  • Provide project management for the federal award, coordinate and collaborate with other AUCD departments, Office of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (OIDD), and national partner efforts
  • Oversee training and TA activities including but not limited to planning and implementing national meetings, webinars, and individual consultation and site visits.
  • Manage data collection and project evaluation activities, lead continuous quality improvement, and develop an annual report highlighting the impact and successes of the URC and the UCEDD network.
  • Develop and monitor the annual project budget, subawards, and expenses in consultation with supervisor and finance team. 
  • Assist in development of applications for funding.

Position Requirements

Education: You will be qualified for this position if you have a master’s degree in a social science, education, administration, public health, policy, or other relevant field (or equivalent experience) OR two (2) years of equivalent professional experience.

Experience: You will be qualified for this position if you have eight (8) years of professional experience providing technical assistance and consultation in topics related to disability, advocacy, capacity-building, systems change, and/or program leadership and management in higher education settings.

Supervisory: Directly supervises two (2) full-time program staff and shared supervisory responsibility for three (3) additional full-time staff.  Assigns, supervises, coordinates, and reviews the work of assigned staff. 

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $80,000.  This position is funded by a federal contract and cooperative agreement and will be contingent upon continued funding.

Note that this will be an in-office position once AUCD begins a gradual return to our office in Silver Spring.  At this time, AUCD will continue to operate remotely through Spring 2022, after that a phased in return will take place.
