The University of Connecticut’s Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) seeks an associate director to enhance its vision and mission to improve the quality of life for persons with disabilities, across the lifespan, and their families. The UConn UCEDD is one of 67 University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities throughout the U.S. and its territories. The emphasis areas in the core plan are early intervention, schools and post-secondary transition, health promotion and community leadership.

This position is an open rank faculty, in-residence position in the Department of Public Health Sciences in the School of Medicine. Responsibilities will include assisting the Center Director to develop and implement UCEDD goals and objectives, grant development and writing, and enhancing and coordinating the Center's efforts in the areas of interdisciplinary training, research, service delivery, dissemination and policy.

The successful candidate will have an established reputation for interdisciplinary scholarship, teaching, and service within the field of Developmental Disabilities as described under the Developmental Disabilities and Bill of Rights Act of 2000 (DD Act).

In addition, the following qualifications are required:1) A doctoral degree in special education, education, psychology, public health or a related field; 2) Evidence of experience working with persons with disabilities in applied settings; 3) Evidence of successful program development and administration; 4) Evidence of securing and/or coordinating and managing external grant funding; 5) Evidence of an established program of scholarship; 6) Evidence of experience working with interdisciplinary groups, including state, community and faculty leaders;7) Evidence of effective college teaching and advising; 8) Evidence of effective verbal and written communication skills; 9) Demonstrated ability to work across multiple state and national agencies and programs.
