Director of Collaborative Science & Innovation, Billings Clinic

The Director of Collaborative Science & Innovation (and Lead Scientist) is a Research Administrator responsible for providing leadership and direction for the development of an institutional program of research. The Director leads the Collaborative Science and Innovation department in a dyad structure with the Medical Director of Research. The Director is responsible to ensure continuity and consistency across and throughout departments performing research. The Director ensures research is conducted in compliance with federal, state, local, commercial, and non-federal agency policies and regulations governing institutional compliance (human research, conflict of interest, fiscal management, misconduct.) Accountabilities include mentoring, directing and supporting the research team, overseeing performance of personnel, facilitating partnerships and research collaboration, short- and long-range planning for research across the organization, fiscal control and responsibility to manage revenue and costs, physician and interdepartmental/intradepartmental relations and personnel management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • PhD in a related field
  • 6 years of leadership experience
  • Previous experience in a research environment mentoring research scientists
  • Medical group practice management in a multi-specialty clinic preferred
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered as it relates to the above
