The School of Public and Community Health Sciences (SPCHS) at the University of Montana, Missoula invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The ideal candidate will be well prepared to develop an independently-funded research program. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, community health, health education, behavioral health, and diverse or international populations. The successful applicant will also have an opportunity to teach classes within our undergraduate, masters, and/or PhD-level classes in one or more of the following areas: community health, health behavior theory, health communication, health education/promotion interventions, program planning, and program evaluation. The selected candidate will also have the opportunity to provide professional service to the university, profession, and community.

Position Details
- Full-time, 1.0 FTE
- Tenure-track Assistant Professor

Minimum Qualifications
- An earned doctorate degree in health education, health promotion, public health, or a closely related field is required
Preferred Qualifications
- Evidence of research and publication history
- Focused research plan with high potential for external funding
- Evidence of effective teaching
- Knowledge and experience in public and behavioral health research
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Public health or health education-related certification (i.e. CHES®, MCHES®)
- Ability and willingness to undertake collaborative research
- Ability to supervise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students
- Ability to maintain a safe working and learning environment
