Position Details
The College of Education at Texas Christian University (TCU) invites applications for the Ann M. Jones Endowed Chair in Special Education, at the rank of Associate Professor (3+ years of experience) or Full Professor, to begin August 2022. We seek a scholar to provide intellectual leadership for our programs and College. Duties include teaching a 1/1 load, maintaining a robust scholarly research, publication and grant writing agenda, and serving at the college and university levels. The position includes a generous discretionary budget, and a competitive salary. Additionally, the Endowed Chair has the option to serve as the Director for the Alice Neeley Special Education Institute (ANSERS Institute) for additional compensation, and oversight of a generous Institute budget. The Director works in collaboration with the College of Education (COE), the university's two laboratory schools (Kinderfrogs and Starpoint), and the broader TCU and Fort Worth community. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A doctoral degree in Special Education or a related field.
- A strong record of published scholarship.
- A record of collaboration with university faculty and school (PK-12) or early intervention personnel
- University teaching experience
- Minimum of 2 years PK-12 public school teaching experience, or early intervention teaching experience.
- A commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• An area of expertise in one or more of the following areas: autism and other developmental disabilities, emotional and behavioral health, cultural and linguistic diversity within special education.
- Success in securing grants and other external funds.
- Effective mentoring of junior faculty and graduate students.
Experience in and ability to form collaborative working partnerships with colleagues, public school teachers and school districts in the context of a teacher preparation program

TCU follows a teacher-scholar model. The CoE offers BS, BSE, MAT, MEd, PhD, and EdD degrees, as well as undergraduate and graduate certifications in a variety of areas. The college serves a vital role within the community and houses two laboratory schools, the TRIO programs, Student Support Services and McNair Scholars, serve to expand this vibrant learning community. Further, the ANSERS Institute for innovation in special education, Andrews Institute for Mathematics & Science Education, and Center for Public Education & Community Engagement support faculty engaged in innovative research and community outreach. Since June 2012, the CoE has raised $12.6 M in philanthropic support and additional grant funding garnered by faculty, staff, and students.
