Assistant Professor or Associate Professor - Pediatrics, Memphis 


The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Developmental Pediatrics , University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Memphis, TN seeks applicants for a Full-time, non-tenure track, clinician-educator faculty position (Assistant or Associate Professor rank). Academic rank at the time of appointment shall be commensurate with experience and credentials.

Primary supervisory responsibilities include training and supervision of psychology doctoral interns and post-doctoral fellows in the context of CDD programs, including for the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and related Disabilities (LEND) programs. The Department supports efforts in curriculum and program development in the variety of settings that are associated with the CDD.

Clinical Care (45% effort): Providing direct clinical and clinical administrative psychology services within the CDD. Effort may be assigned at other clinical locations.

Education and Training (30% effort): Responsibilities include training students and professional trainees (both in Psychology and in other professions in an interdisciplinary graduate-level training program), and supervision of students/trainees in the context of CDD programs, including the UCEDD and LEND programs. The Department supports efforts in curriculum and program development in the variety of settings that are associated with the CDD.

Service (15% effort): The Department is supportive of community leadership and advocacy roles.

Research and Academics (10% effort): The Department is supportive of contributions to scholarly activity, including research, within the CDD. Should research effort be pursued, successful acquisition of funding would allow increased time and protected effort for research and related academic activities as appropriate for the position. Other academic obligations include participation in department and division teaching conferences and serving on hospital and university committees as directed by the Chair of Pediatrics or Division Chief of Developmental Pediatrics.

 

Qualifications

Requires a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. The applicant should be licensed or license-eligible in Tennessee as a Psychologist, Health Service Provider and will be expected to be board-certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology within 3 years.

Departmental Preferences

  • Experience preferred in diagnosis and treatment of autism spectrum disorders, (particularly behavioral treatments/behavioral analysis).
