AUCD's National Center on Disability in Public Health seeks to engage a Project Specialist to support a one-year project: Disability Community-wide COVID-19 Vaccination Outreach Initiative.  The purpose of this project is to collaborate with key organizations in the disability community, as well as AUCD Network members such as LENDs, to share vaccine confidence messaging and conduct outreach with people with disabilities at a local level.

As a Project Specialist you will provide project oversight, while collaborating with AUCD, NCBDDD/CDC, and partners to plan and execute project activities to be completed during the funding period.  This position will provide you with an exceptional opportunity to exercise your project management skills and initiative in a fast-paced yet relaxed office atmosphere with a team of dedicated, passionate colleagues.

This is a temporary position with an expected twelve (12) month assignment contingent upon continued funding through a federal cooperative agreement with the CDC.  The salary range for this position is $54,050 - $55,672.  This position is eligible for remote work.

Position Requirements

You will be qualified for this position if you have completed a graduate program (MPH, MS, MSW, MA, etc.) in the social or health sciences (e.g., public health, public policy, psychology, social work, education, allied health) AND at least three (3) years of relevant experience that includes planning, leading, and managing projects.  To be qualified, you must also have a demonstrated proficiency using current technologies and tools to communicate and exchange information and Microsoft Office software (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint).

If you are preferred candidate, you will also have experience working with grantees at federal or state levels and prior experience working with people with disabilities.

 

Lastly, you must possess the following attributes, demonstrated through your prior experience or education:

 

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to influence and engage a wide range of partners at all levels and learning styles and needs.
  • Sound judgment, solid decision-making skills, and strong emphasis of upholding confidentiality and integrity.
  • A commitment to ensuring diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) is applied in all practices and approaches (including plain language).
  • Skill in overseeing simultaneous, complex activities that have multiple components.
  • Skill in establishing and cultivating strong relationships internally and externally in order to reach common goals and objectives.
  • The ability to convey ideas and to respond appropriately to key stakeholders.
  • Skill in organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
