Transition Tennessee: Vanderbilt Kennedy Center UCEDD 

We are excited to add to multiple new team members to our growing portfolio of transition work (www.transitiontn.org). We are looking for new colleagues who are passionate about improving the quality and impact of transition services and supports for youth with disabilities. Below are our current open positions:

Transition Consultant

This position involves contributing to the delivery of professional development, technical assistance, coaching, and resources to improve the transition-related outcomes of middle and high school students with disabilities across the state of Tennessee. These educational consultants will work as part of a collaborative team of faculty, staff, and university students to: (a) develop in-person and on-line professional development content; (b) assist schools and districts to improve the quality of their transition services, supports, and partnerships; (c) establish compelling communities of practice and regional trainings addressing best practices in transition; (d) support data collection and evaluation efforts; and (e) contribute to a statewide transition team. Pre-Employment Transition Services Consultant

This position involves contributing to the development and delivery of training, technical assistance, and practical resources to improve the quality of Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) and vocational outcomes for students with disabilities across the state of Tennessee. These educational consultants will work as part of a collaborative team of faculty, staff, and undergraduate students to: (a) develop online training modules and resources for vocational rehabilitation, Pre-ETS providers, and youth with disabilities; (b) organize regional trainings on Pre-ETS annually; (c) assist with data collection and evaluation efforts; (d) improve the quality of Pre-ETS services, supports, and partnerships funded by Tennessee's Department of Human Services; and (d) contribute to a statewide transition leadership team. Employment Intervention Coach

This position involves training and supporting special educators-along with other transition team members-to connect students with severe disabilities to paid, part-time employment during their final year of high school. This multi-year research project is evaluating the impact of early work experiences on the post-school outcomes of students with intellectual disability, autism, or multiple disabilities. This educational consultant will work as part of a collaborative team to: (a) provide training on the year-long employment intervention; (b) support school and agency staff to connect students to part-time jobs in the community; (c) assist with data collection and evaluation efforts; and (d) help develop project resources and materials.
