The person will also devote some time (about 30%) to supporting data collection or data management activities, such as:

  • Assisting to organize data collection materials (e.g., organizing training binders)
  • Data management tasks such as data entry, organizing electronic files, verifying data entry accuracy, etc.

The person will also spend some time, but not as much (about 20%) with these activities:

  • Provide clerical support such as scheduling meetings using Microsoft Outlook or Doodle polls, typing meeting notes, making copies, scanning documents, etc.
  • Other research project tasks that may need to be done.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED and 2 years of related experience
  • 6 months of experience working with people with disabilities such as autism, or their families
  • 1 year experience using email (please describe in your cover letter)
  • Ability to develop clear and concise materials using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint as evidenced by application materials
  • Strong attention to detail as evidenced by application materials
  • Reliable access of transportation to KU Lawrence campus
  • Ability to work on KU Lawrence campus

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or related college experience
  • 1 year experience with self-advocacy or membership in a self-advocacy group
  • 6 months of experience with data collection, entry, and management
  • 6 months experience using Outlook or Doodle polls or similar software to schedule meetings.
  • Interest or knowledge of self-determination, transition to employment, supported decision making research, as demonstrated by application materials and interview.
